Registration and Accommodation Information

Early registration must be received by June 8th, 2001. Once we have received your registration, we will acknowledge it via email.

Registration Fee 

All fees are in US Dollars and must be paid by checks or money orders drawn on US banks. Advance registration is available until June 8th 2001. After that date, only on-site registration will be available. The following is a breakdown of the registration fee schedule. 

+ WCW'01 sponsors qualify for up to three regular registrations at a discounted rate of $150
* Students must show valid University ID cards identifying them as such to qualify for this rate 

Registration Fee Waivers: The registration fee will be waived for PhD students pursuing their degrees in institutions outside the United States. To qualify, you need to present a letter from your non-US-based institution certifying your status as a PhD student. Please send such a letter along with your completed registration form. 

Local Arrangements

The Web Caching and Content Distribution Workshop will be held on the Charles River Campus of Boston University (click here for details). Boston is a very busy city, especially in the summer! We recommend that you finalize your local arrangements early. There are a number of options for accommodations that the workshop was able to secure. 

BU Dormitory Option ($49 per day)

The workshop has secured a block of 100 single-occupancy dormitory rooms in the brand new facility in the Student Village on the Boston University Campus. These dormitories are within walking distance from the center of Campus where the conference will be held. More information about these accommodations is available from the web site for the 10 Buick Street Residence. At $49 a day (at the heart of Boston) this is by far the cheapest and most convenient option.

To secure a room in the BU Dormitories, you must pre-register (by June 8th) and you must send full payment along with your registration fees (see registration form). If you decide you want to stay on campus past that date, please contact Ms. Ellen Grady at 617-353-8919.

Ideally located on the scenic Charles River, the Doubletree Guest Suites Boston/Cambridge is Boston's only full service luxury all suite hotel. Just minutes from downtown Boston and across the river from Cambridge the hotel is a perfect central location to access all of greater Boston's offerings. The DoubleTree Guest Suites are about 2 miles from the center of the BU Campus. Complementary shuttle transportation from the Hotel can be arranged.

To secure a room at the DoubleTree Guest Suites, please contact the hotel directly. The workshop has negotiated a special price of $169 per day (please mention "Boston University / Web Caching Workshop (WCW)" when you make your reservations to get this rate). The special rate of $169 per day is guaranteed only till May 31st, 2001.
